Your privacy, from reading to delivery.

This notice explains, in plain language, the limited information handled when you visit the site, buy the book, or ask for support. The site and the book are operated by Qosmic Co Pty Ltd, an Australian company, which is the controller responsible for the information described here. There are no accounts, no newsletter, and no email sign-up.

What information is handled

We handle purchase and delivery information, support requests, and optional analytics:

  • Paddle and PayPal handle current checkout, depending on the payment option you select. Paddle acts as merchant of record for Paddle purchases. These providers process payment, name, email, billing, tax, and fraud-prevention information as needed. This site does not receive or store full card details.
  • Stripe remains involved in verifying and supporting historical purchases made through Stripe; it is not the current checkout described above.
  • Your delivery email address, used to send your protected download links.
  • Support correspondence, if you email us, kept so we can answer and keep a record of the request.
  • Resend sends transactional delivery emails. Vercel hosts the site. Order verification, protected downloads, and delivery/support records work independently of optional analytics consent.
  • With your permission, Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics measure selected public-page visits and interactions. Vercel also receives permitted, server-verified purchase events, with amount and currency.
  • Server logs, such as IP address, timestamp, and pages requested, created whenever any website is served.

When enabled, analytics providers may process browser/device information, network information needed to receive a request, and usage events. Google Analytics uses cookie identifiers. We do not enable advertising consent or send customer emails, payment-provider lookup IDs, signed download links, URL queries/fragments, or private worksheet entries in our analytics events.

Why it is used, and the legal bases

Order information is used to complete payment, deliver protected download links, prevent abuse, provide support, and process refunds. It is not sold. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on these legal bases:

  • Contract, to take payment and deliver the book you bought.
  • Legitimate interests, to secure the site and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • Legal obligations, for required accounting and tax records.
  • Consent, for optional analytics and associated browser storage. Declining does not affect reading, checkout, delivery, or support.

Where information is processed

Our providers may process information in Australia, the United States, the European Union, and other countries where they operate. Their privacy notices describe their processing and international-transfer arrangements. Contact us with questions about the arrangements applicable to your information.

How long it is kept

Payment and order records are kept as long as tax and business law requires, which is usually several years. Delivery and support information is kept while needed for those purposes and recordkeeping. Analytics retention depends on the providers’ settings; browser storage is described below. Withdrawing consent stops future collection but does not automatically delete information already received by a provider.

Your rights in the EU, UK, and elsewhere

If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you have the right to access your information, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to a supervisory authority. In Australia, the Australian Privacy Principles apply, and you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). Your rights in California

If the CCPA or CPRA applies to you, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to have it deleted or corrected, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use sensitive personal information for those purposes.

Cookies and analytics

Optional analytics are off until you accept. Accept and decline are offered together. Our trackers run only in the production environment, not local development or preview deployments. We honor Global Privacy Control by keeping optional analytics off even if you previously accepted.

Use the Analytics preferences control at any time to change your choice or withdraw consent. Turning analytics off may reload the page to stop already-loaded trackers; save any unsaved worksheet work first. We remove our purchase-deduplication storage and accessible Google Analytics cookies when you decline. Browser storage restrictions may prevent saving a choice; in that case analytics stay off.

Google Analytics does not load on checkout, success, download, or API routes. It is also excluded from guide/search/tool pages and URLs containing queries or fragments. Vercel records allowlisted public routes without queries or fragments. Verified purchase measurement on the success page uses Vercel only, not Google. A download click is not recorded as successful delivery.

  • We store your accept/decline choice locally in this browser so you do not need to answer on every page. It remains until changed or cleared. This preference does not contain a customer or order ID.
  • With consent, Google Analytics (G-1W9KX8F5EM) can set _ga and _ga_1W9KX8F5EM cookies. We configure a one-year lifetime, which may be renewed by later visits. Browser rules can shorten it.
  • With consent, we store up to 100 opaque purchase identifiers in this browser to avoid counting the same verified purchase on return visits. These identifiers cannot authorize a download or look up an order at a payment provider. They remain until replaced by newer entries, consent is withdrawn, or browser storage is cleared.

Consent applies to this browser, not every device you use. You can also clear site data in your browser. Optional analytics are incomplete by design and are not our accounting or delivery records.

Children

The book and the site are meant for adults and are not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. The current version and its effective date are always shown on this page.
